Through individual sponsorships, we provide long-term financial assistance to students from 3rd to 10th grade. This includes support for tuition, school supplies, and other essential needs.
While our focus is on girls—who often face higher risks of school dropout—the program is open to any student in genuine need. A key goal is to help students complete 10th grade, which opens doors to government exams and employment opportunities, enabling long-term financial independence.
Currently, 5 students are supported, in collaboration with trusted teachers and schools in Kerala and with the support of Cornell community members.
We conduct biannual workshops that introduce students to hands-on learning in science and English.
These workshops are designed to complement traditional education and help build confidence, communication skills, and curiosity.
Led by Aleesha and a team of passionate volunteers—many of whom are experienced in outreach at Cornell University —these sessions also provide local teachers with the tools and resources to continue activities long after the workshop ends. We are working closely with our contacts in India to establish sustainable, community-led follow-up program.
